George Giamouridis is a Ph.D. candidate in cybersecurity, focusing on blockchain and distributed networks. He works on improving the security of decentralized systems and peer-to-peer technology and his goal is to create solutions that strengthen the trust and resilience of these systems.
About me
George earned his Bachelor degree in Computer Science (2016–2020) at the
University of Piraeus. During this time he was honored to receive the Award of Excellence
from the State Scholarships Foundation for achieving the highest degree
grade among all graduates in the academic year 2019–2020. This
achievement highlights his dedication to academic excellence and his
commitment to mastering complex technical topics.
Following his undergraduate studies, he pursued a M.Sc. in Computer
Science at the University of Southampton (2020–2021), where he graduated
with First-Class Honors. This degree allowed him to explore complex
computer science concepts and cybersecurity principles, improving his
technical expertise.

Currently, he is a Ph.D. candidate in Cybersecurity at the University of
Southampton, where he is a member of the
Cybersecurity Research Group. His doctoral work focuses on key challenges in decentralized network
security and peer-to-peer technologies, tackling real-world issues
around trust, resilience, and security in distributed systems.
Beyond academia, he is the founder of Malvox Limited, where he is
playing a significant role in strategic growth and product development.
Malvox offers a powerful cybersecurity tool designed to protect
businesses and their customers, as well as individuals, from emerging
security threats. This entrepreneurial venture has given him hands-on
experience in technology commercialization, team management, and
developing innovative tech products to address urgent security needs in
a changing threat landscape.
